September is Suicide Prevention Month

Hey all!

As we work to decrease the stigma surrounding mental health issues and substance use/abuse, we are confronted by the impact this stigma has those who suffer.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States- that's over 44,000 people a year, or 121 people a day. Here in North Carolina, the numbers are equally staggering, and in Carteret County, they are even higher.

One of the ways we can help #StopTheStigma, is learning how to become advocates for those who feel alone and isolated in their suffering. On September 10, at 6PM, Life Point Church is offering a workshop to increase awareness of the signs and what to do when loved ones, friends, colleagues, students, or other members of our community may be contemplating suicide or self-harm. For more information, see the flyer below, or give Ray Conner a call at (252) 241-7395.

We hope to see you there!
